Carson, Kathy Annette - 1956-2012

Kathryn "Kathy" Annette Carson, daughter of Darrell Douglas Carson and Beverley Joan Carson was born December 27, 1956 at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Clarke County Hospital at 55 years of age.
Kathy received her education in Murray High School graduating in 1975. Soon after graduation, Kathy moved to Des Moines and attended Grandview College. She applied for her first job with Principal Financial Group in Des Moines and remained there for nearly thirty-seven years working as an underwriter.
During her years in Des Moines, Kathy thoroughly enjoyed serving her community in various ways. She was a devoted volunteer of the Ronald McDonald House, where she achieved Volunteer of the Year. In addition she was involved volunteerism at the Science Center of Iowa, Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Waterworks Park Fun Run and Christmas lighting, and the Principal Financial events and golf tournaments. In her "spare" time, Kathy enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, reading, attending craft shows and garage sales. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Murray Mustangs. Kathy remained a loyal Murray fan over the years and most recently attended the State Playoff games in Cedar Falls.
Those relatives who preceded Kathryn in death were her grandparents, Leona C. and Walter L. Hurt and Orville and Amelia Carson as well as her Aunt, Phyllis Wolf.
Kathryn leaves to cherish her memory, parents, Darrell and Beverley Carson of Murray, IA, sister, Pamela (Ken) Caldwell of Grand Island, NE, sister, Patty Greenland of Van Wert, IA; nephews, Eric Caldwell; David Caldwell (Jacki) and their children Jalyn and Jalyssa; and Steven Greenland all of Grand Island, NE. Kathy is also survived by her very special friends Deb and Connie who have been with her through the years and have been a great help to her family during her illness.
Memorial Services for Kathy will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 28 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Visitation with the family will be held on hour prior to her services and burial will be held at a later time at Murray Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Ronald McDonald House in Des Moines.
