Robert Walker was born in Osceola, Clarke County, Iowa, March 6, 1873 and passed away March 18, 1940 at the age of 67 years and 12 days. He was the son of John and Martha Walker, former pioneer residents of Osceola.

The Walker family moved to Des Moines and Robert received his education in that city. He traveled extensively in the west. Almost 18 years ago he returned to Osceola and made his home with his aunt, Mrs. Joe Williams. After her death, Robert remained at the old Williams homestead until his death.

He was a member of the African Methodist Episcopal church of Osceola.

The following relatives survive: a step-mother, Mrs. John Walker; a sister, Frances Hall, of Des Moines; three brothers, Prince Walker, Chicago, Ill., William Walker, Minneapolis, Minn., and Lloyd Walker, Long Beach, Calif., a nephew, Elbert R. Hall, Des Moines, cousins, Fred Langford, of Des Moines and Mr. and Mrs. John Draden of Osceola, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held from the Webster Funeral Home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. F.C. McCallon of the Christian church and interment was made in Maple Hill cemetery.
