Osceola, IowaFuneral services were held Tuesday, December 2, for Jennie Homewood, 94, who died at Osceola Leisure Manor on Friday, November 28, 1975. Walter Williams officiated at the 1:30 pm. services conducted from the Hopeville Methodist Church. Interment was in the Hopeville Cemetery with Watts-Lindsay Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Jennie Homewood was born January 14, 1881, in Norton County, Kansas, daughter of Aaron Thomas Rilea and Hannah Rebecca Chew Rilea. She was married to Edward Earl Homewood on April 15, 1903, in Clarke County. One son was born to this union.
She lived the greater portion of her life in Union County after moving to Iowa from Kansas in 1883. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Earl Rilea Homewood of Thayer, five grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on August 6, 1956; two brothers, two sisters and her parents.
