Mrs. Mary Alice Clark passed away at her home Friday morning, January 16, after only a few days illness. The funeral services were held from the Methodist church Sunday, January 18, at 2 p.m. by Rev. Elmer Clark of Keokuk, assisted by Rev. Newt Clark. The music by Mrs. Dorothy Evans and Mrs. Gretta Woods, pianist, Mrs. June Joy of Humeston. The songs, Beautiful Hands, Does Jesus Care, and Rock of Ages. The pallbearers were Ed Clark, Manning Clark, Lute Carson, Oscar Carson, Jeff Carson and Bert Carson. The services in charge of W. L. Forster funeral service. The body was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Woodburn cemetery. We extend sympathy to her family and to the host of relatives and friends. A few of the out of town people who were here: Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Staley and sons Donald and Mansel of Osceola, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Bullard of Minnesota, Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Clark and sons of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Dorn and son of Fort Madison, Miss May Clark of Keokuk, Mrs. Hattie Elmore and son Clyde of Osceola, Mrs. Carl Leach and Mrs. Belle Joy of Humeston, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Johnson, son Harold and wife of St. Charles, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Horton, son Wade and wife and son James, Mrs. Harley Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Wright, Mr. and Mrs. George Marquis of Osceola, and Frank Patterson and friend from Chariton.
