Died at his home in Madison township, August 18th, at 12 M, J. M. Schaff aged forty-two years, ten months and thirteen days. He had been ill with consumption two years or more, and made a brave fight for life, with his family of children that the mother left about the time his illness began. The oldest daughter, about fourteen, has cared for him with wisdom beyond her years, and is now left with a great charge. Mr. Schaff awaited death calmly and bade his children farewell about an hour before it. The funeral occurred on Sunday at 10 A.M. and interment in the Union cemetery. Friends of the orphan children are numerous, and extend much sympathy.
