Wm. H. Carson

Wm. H. Carson, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Carson was born February 28, 1869 near Woodburn, Ia., and departed this life January 4, 1944 at a local hospital at the age of 74 years, 10 months and 7 days.

He was married to Mary Wiley February 27, 1895 and to this union were born one son Olin F., or near Osceola; four daughter, Mrs. Oscar Weakland of near Osceola, Mrs. Lloyd Waugh of near Derby, Mrs. Herman Waugh of near Osceola and Mrs. Ed Gay of Des Moines.

Mr. Carson chose farming as his life's occupation and always enjoyed his work. He united with the Christian church at Woodburn many years ago and has always maintained his membership there although he attended a Sunday school in the neighborhood in which he lived. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge and the Woodmen lodge. He found much enjoyment and recreation from these organizations.

Besides his beloved wife, son and four daughters he leaves to cherish his memory twelve grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Wm. Cutter of near Coin, Iowa. Three brothers preceded him in death. He also leaves many other relatives and friends.

He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed the fellowship of his family and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at the Woodburn Christian church Thursday at 2 p.m. Webster Funeral home in charge. Re. Chas. C. Miller of the Osceola church of Christ officiated. Interment in Ottawa cemetery.
