In Des Moines Sat.; Was 77Funeral services for Jeff Carson, former Clarke county resident, were held at the Webster Funeral Home, September 24 with Rev. Elmer Clark of Woodburn, officiating. Burial was in Ottawa cemetery. He was 77 years old.
A native of Clarke county, he was born on January 14, 1879, a son of E. L. and Sarah Clark Carson. He received his education in the schools of Clarke county and was married to Harriett Hanlin on March 6, 1901. He was a farmer in this county until his retirement about ten years ago when he moved to Des Moines where he has since made his home. He died at a hospital in that city, Saturday, Sept. 22.
Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Carson, three of whom survive him.
Survivors include one son, Melvin and daughter-in-law, Marie of Osceola; two daughters, Irene Carson of Des Moines and Verda Carson of Chicago; granddaughter, Carolyn Lingle; sister, Meda Heston of Osceola and three brothers; Fred of Osceola; Frank of Woodburn and Schuyler Clark Carson of Des Moines.
