Sarah Roberts Nichleson

Miss Sarah Roberts was born December 25, 1829 in Marion county, Illinois.

She passed away October 15, 1934 at the age of 94 years, 9 months and 10 days at the Osceola nursing home.

She was married to John Nickleson on March 9, 1860. To this union was born nine children, six daughters and three sons. Those she leaves to mourn her departure are, Mrs. Addie Burrell of Osceola, with whom she made her home; Mrs. Lucinda Triggs of Rolfe, Ia., Mrs. Hattie Chiles of Norwalk, William Nickleson, of Norwalk, Richard Nickleson of Oakley; thirty-nine grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Her husband and four children preceded her in death.

When she was very young she gave herself to the Lord and was united with the Church of Christ.

She was a faithful, loving mother and was loved by all who knew her.

Her last illness which dates from September 26, 1934 was marked with extreme suffering which she bore very patiently.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday from the Miller Funeral home by the Rev. F. C. McCallon. Interment in Jay cemetery.

Note: Burial was in the Walker Cemetery, Lucas County, Iowa. Spelling on the headstone is Nickelson.
