Rites Jan. 21

Alva Kermit Wright of Woodburn, died Friday, January 18, 1985 at the age of 68, at the Veteran's Hospital in Des Moines. Services were held Monday, January 21 at the Woodburn Cemetery, with the Rev. Clifford Haider of Osceola officiating the 1:30 p. m. rites.

Alva Kermit Wright was born in Wayne County, Iowa to Arthur H. Wright and Muriel Lowe Wright. He attended schools in Woodburn and was married to Irene Lowe at Ottumwa, Iowa on January 12, 1946. He was employed as shop foreman for the Clarke County Maintenance and served his country during World War II, a prisoner of war for 26 months.

Alva was a member of the Woodburn United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Irene of Woodburn; son, Rex A. Wright of Osceola; daughter, Teresa L. Dixson and husband, Calvin of Lucas; daughter, Marcella M. Short seven grandchildren; one sister, Irene Shober and husband, Gene of Ottumwa, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wright of Osceola.
