ETOLA B. WOODARD

Etola Beulah Woodard, daughter of Ira and Grace Smith Watson, was born September 17, 1915, at Hopeville and died April 1, 1994, at the Afton Care Center. She was 78.

She attended school in Murray and was married June 20, 1959, to Verlin Woodard at the Christian Church in Osceola.

She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Murray.

Mrs. Woodard was an accomplished cook and devoted to taking care of her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Liane, and grandson, Jon Eggers.

Mrs. Woodard is survived by her husband; two sons, Ira McConnell and his wife, Roberta McConnell, of Washington and Larry J. McConnell of Colorado Springs, Colo; six daughters, Deloris Eggers and her husband, Ivan Eggers, of Des Moines, Darlene Little and her husband, Norman Little, of Murray, Deleth Gonseth and her husband, Bill Gonseth, of Murray, Doris McClure and her husband, Terry McClure, of West Des Moines, Donna Poil and her husband, Fred Poil, of Red Oak, Texas and Dixie Shike and her husband, Dean SHike, of Greenfield; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

Services for Mrs. Woodard were April 4 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with the Rev. Neville Clayton officiating. Pennie Gonseth, organist accompanied Emil Rinderspacher as he sang Amazing Grace and How Great Thou Art.

Casket bearers were Andy Gonseth, Ed McConnell, Rick McConnell, Eugene Little, Mark Eggers, and Stephen Eggers. Interment was in the Jopeville Cemetery in Clarke County.
