Chester David Hays, son of Mondel and Margaret Umland Hays was born at Osceola on July 14, 1925, and died at his home Jan. 29, 1991. He was 65.
Mr. Hays was a welder at the Seed & Grain Company at New Virginia. He also was affiliated with the Lutheran Church in Osceola.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, George, Gilbert, Roscoe, and Sears; two sisters, Maxine Devol and Almarine Mateer.
He leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Jennifer Hays of Osceola; daughter, Dena Byers of Pacific Junction; stepson, Frank Byers of Osceola; sister, Leora Loomis of Des Moines, as well as other relatives and a host of friends.
