Catherine Louise Baldwin was born in Newark, N. J., on the 24th day of October, 1828, and departed this life May 30th, 1915, at the age of 86 years, 7 months and 4 days. At the age of 15 years she moved with her parents to Salem, Iowa. In 1843 she was united in marriage to Lindsey Coppock of Salem, Iowa. To this union twelve children were born of which six are left to mourn their loss. They are as follows: Mary Elizabeth Carson of Osceola, Mrs. Sarah Maria Oneal of Osceola, Mrs. Ruth Etta Allen of Oquawka, Illinois, Mrs. Martha Frost Cox of Monmouth, Illinois, H. W. Coppock of Fort Cobb, Oklahoma, and John A. Coppock of Apache, Oklahoma.
After her marriage she with her husband and family moved on a farm near Woodburn, Iowa and remained twenty-seven years. The family moved to Griswold, Iowa. She was left a widow in 1902 by the death of her husband, Lindsey Coppock. She moved with her son, John A. Coppock, to Apache, Oklahoma, six years ago and made that her home until a few weeks ago when she came to the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. D. Oneal where she passed away.
At the age of 10 years she united with the M. E. church and has been a faithful member of the same until her death.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Tuesday at 3 p. m. conducted by the pastor, Rev. Forest H. Perkins. Interment in the Woodburn cemetery.
