Mrs. Arthur Parr.

Minnie Edyth Garton was born in Wayne county, Iowa, September 12, 1885, and died at Osceola, Iowa, March 20, 1926, aged forty years, six months, and eight days. She was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur Parr, July 6, 1908. To this union two children were born, Leona Bernice and Donald Howard, both of whom are left to miss her. Besides the children she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Garton, four sisters, Mrs. Mary Alice Northrup, Garden Grove, Mrs. Rosa Ellen Erb, Des Moines, Mrs. Pearl Estella Rosengrant, Osceola, and Miss Ina at home; five brothers, LeRoy, Formoso, Kans., Dewey, Clarinda, Matt, Des Moines, and Clyde and Cash of Weldon, many other relatives and a host of friends. Her girlhood was spent in this community, after her marriage she made her home for a time in Nebraska, later going to Long Beach, California, where she resided until 1920 when she came back to Weldon. Some two years ago she moved to Osceola where she has since made her home. She was converted some years ago, accepted Christ as her personal Savior, and made her public confession of her Christ. She had not united with any church but she lived for and loved the Christ whom she had confessed. Death came suddenly and unexpectedly, after only a brief illness, and her home-going marks the first break in the family circle.

Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. church at Weldon on Monday afternoon by the Eastern Stars of which she was a member, assisted by the pastor, Rev. Alta M. Nichols, and interment made in the Hebron cemetery.
