L. Tallman dies at 91

Lula G. Tallman, 91 of 204 S. Fourth died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 at Parkview Care Center. She had been in failing health the last several years, and seriously ill the past week.

Funeral services and burial will be Friday at Murray. Time has not been set. The Rev. James V. Parrish will officiate. The body will lie in state at the Behner Funeral Home on Thursday.

Mrs. Tallman was born March 22, 1887 in Woodburn, the daughter of Coleman and Nancy Jane Mosbarger Barber. On July 21, 1907, she was married to Edward E. Tallman and they started housekeeping in Murray. In 19256 they moved to Lockridge where he worked for the railroad. They returned to Lockridge after seven years in Pilot Rock. He died in July, 1939.

She had lived in Fairfield since 1963 although she had continued her membership in the Lockridge Baptist Church. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by a son.

Survivors include her son, Orland of Fairfield, a sister, Mrs. Addie Jones of Ottumwa, a niece and a nephew.
