Obituary.

Died, at the residence of Job Carson, near Ottawa, November 28, 1896, his mother, Elizabeth Carson, after a lingering illness, in the eighty-seventh year of her age. She was the mother of thirteen children, nine of them survive her. She came with her husband, Abraham Carson, in an early day and settled on the place at which she died. She united with the M. E. church in 1864, but changed her membership to the U. B. church in 1894. She was always known as a kind mother and a Christian neighbor.

The funeral services were held at the U. B. church in Ottawa. The sermon was preached by Revs. Crowley Clark, of Smyrna and Rev. Drake and wife of the U. B. church. A large congregation was present and the services were deep and impressive, and we hope may be the means of doing good to the hearers.
Jon S. Carson
