Gordon Keith 'Tinker' Harris, son of Hylvin Harris and Edith (Williams) Harris was born September 10, 1932 in Freemont Township in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Monday, May 20, 2013 in Greer, South Carolina at 80 years of age.

Tinker grew up in New Virginia, Iowa and graduated with the New Virginia High School Class of 1950. He was married to Mary Ellen Marks on May 19, 1950. This union was blessed with seven daughters. Tinker farmed and worked for Iowa Southern Utilities from 1960 to 1962. He was a member of the New Virginia Lions Club and Habitat for Humanity in Hawaii. He worked for Colonial Pipeline which took his family to New Jersey for 30 years. He married Dorothy Smith Woodson on May 13, 1975, and her three daughters were added to his family. He retired from Colonial in 1993 as a Supervisor, working for 29 years.

Tinker enjoyed gardening and took great pride in everything he grew. He moved to Hawaii where he lived for two years before moving to Greer, South Carolina eight years ago.

Tinker was preceded in death by his parents, Hylvin and Edith Harris; sister-in-law, Phyllis Shoup Harris; wife, Dorothy Harris; brother, Doyle Harris and grandson-in-law, Bobby Thomason.
