Henry Woods was born in Highland county, Ohio, June 2, 1845, died February 15, 1912, in Clarke county, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 12 days. He was united in marriage August 8, 1875, to Miss Alice Hart, and to this union four sons were born, namely John, Bert, Charles and Edd, all living in Clarke county, His wife departed this life, January 26, 1908. He leaves besides his four sons, one sister, Mrs. Sarah Evans of Lucas county, and one brother, Jesse Woods, of Adair county, twenty-two grandchildren and many friends.

Mr. Woods united with the Christian Union church at Bethel Chapel seven years ago and many times during his sickness he expressed himself as being ready and willing to go. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. F. Dorrell of Milo Friday morning at Bethel Chapel, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery near.
