Webster Funeral Home

Mrs. Elsie Kerr, widow of the late Lon Kerr, died in Osceola on Christmas day. She was 84 years old.

Services will be from Webster funeral home, Tuesday December 29 with burial in the Liberty cemetery. Rev. Azel Smith of the Methodist church will officiate.

The obituary:

Elizabeth Funston Kerr, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Funston, was born in Clarke county, Iowa, August 17, 1869 and passed away in Osceola December 25, 1953 at the age of 84 years. All of her life was spent in Clarke county, and she received her education in the Clarke county schools.

She was united in marriage to Lon Kerr. To this union four children were born.

She united with the Jamison Methodist church many years ago and remained faithful in her Christian life.

She was a member of the Eastern Star lodge in Osceola.

Relatives remaining are: her son Gordon and wife Theresa; four grandchildren, Ronald, Robert, Marna Kay and Doris Kerr; one great grandson, Craig Kerr; two sisters, Emma Folger of Pullman, Washington, and Bessie Coye of Omaha, Nebr.; one brother, Robert Funston of Osceola, and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Her father, mother, husband Lon Kerr, two daughters Marion and Daris, son Guy, sister Laura, brother Frank and grandson James Roland Kerr preceded her in death.
