Death of Philip W. Aller

Philip W. Aller, son of John and Priscilla Driver Aller, was born in Morrow county, Ohio, June 7, 1831, aged 79 years and 19 days.

The deceased spent the early years of life in his native state, and on December 15, 1853, in the county in which he was born, was united in marriage with Sophia Messenger. To this union were born, John C. Aller and Ada L. Murray, now living, Mary E. Davis, Zoe E., Ida May and an infant daughter deceased.

During the dark days of the civil conflict the deceased served his country as a member of Co C, 136 Ohio Infantry.

In the fall of 1867 Mr. Aller and family moved to Clarke county and at once became on of the influential families of those early days. Soon after their arrival they united with the Baptist church and down to the present hour their presence here has been ever a blessing and an inspiration to better and noble living. After many years spent on the farm, and as the infirmities of passing years demanded rest, the more arduous labors of life were given up by the deceased, and with his good companion, he moved from the farm and found a comfortable home in Murray where they lived happily until the faithful companion was called to her celestial home, November 7, 1909. The loss of his companion, the one who through so many years devoted herself to his happiness, the encroachment of decease and the failing strength of more than three score years, all tended to dim the light of life with Grandpa Aller and to hasten the moment when he would bid farewell to all things earthly. That time came at 5:55 Saturday morning, June 25th, and today while we mourn over the clay and do honor to his memory, the reunion of father and mother and children is a happy one, and from their Heavenly home comes consolation and in this hour of grief and sorrow over the departure of those so recently called home, we are enabled to Say, God's will be done.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist church at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
