Long-Time Clarke County Resident Died
Day After Christmas At Home Of
Daughter And Son-In-Law

Funeral services for William I. Edgington, long time resident of Clarke county, were held at the Webster funeral home Wednesday afternoon, December 30 with Rev. Azel Smith of the Methodist church officiating. Burial was at the Jamison cemetery.

The obituary:
William Isaac Edgington, son of Leonard and Eliza Edgington, was born April 17, 1876 near Pleasantville, Iowa, and died the morning of December 26, 1953 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Addison Bowlsby, his daughter and son-in-law. He was the youngest of a family of eight. He had not been well for several years but had spent a happy Christmas day with relatives and friends.

When Mr. Edgington was a small child the family moved to Dillen, Nebr., then a pioneer community, where they lived for several years. On returning to Iowa they located in Clarke county.

On November 16, 1909, at St. Charles, he was married to Miss Mable Zepp of Jamison. For the next six years they made their home near Nevada, Mo. They returned to Iowa when a brother's failing eyesight made it necessary for Will to take over the family farm. Two daughters, Mrs. Lois Bowlsby and Mrs. Floy McCloney were born to this union.

In November of 1925 the family suffered the loss of the wife and mother who had made their home an ideally happy place.

In 1940 he left the farm and has since made his home with his daughters; devoting several years to the care of his eldest sister, Mary.

Mr. Edgington has been a member of the Jamison Methodist church since his youth, and all through his life has retained his interest in the work of the church.

Besides these many friends, made throughout the years, he leaves to mourn his death his daughters with their husbands: Mr. and Mrs. Addison Bowlsby and Mr. and Mrs. Evert McCloney; his grandchildren, Betty Bowlsby, Lois, Frank, Lillian, Junior, Ruth, Ronald, Richard, Donald Craig, and Roger Allen McCloney. Besides these there are several nieces and one nephew who will always remember with special affection their "Uncle Bill."
