Died at his home in Hopeville, Iowa, Aug. 30, 1882, Wyatt Adkins aged 74 years, 11 months, and 9 days. Thus another of the grand “Old Guard” the generation who came early and “possessed the land,” and gave Clarke county formation, prestige and honor, has passed from her borders, and the bounds of mortal life to the great land of light and glory.
