Sarah A. Levi was born in Sangamon County, Illinois December 31, 1837 and departed this life December 22, 1901, aged sixty-three years, eleven months and twenty two days. She was married to D. H. Funderburk in 1855. To this union six children were born. Two died in infancy. Julia the only daughter died last spring. Three sons survive the mother, J.T. Funderburk, of Macon, Mo., and C. C. Of Allenville, Ill, and D. W., of Clarke county, Iowa. Mrs. Funderburk united with the M. E. church some forty-three or forty four years ago, and ever afterward endeavored to live a Christian life, and when the time of her departure came she simply fell asleep in Jesus. A few nights before she died she called her friends to her bed side and told them all to meet her in Heaven. She died at the home of her son-in-law's, Baxter D. Patterson, with whom she made her home, Funeral services were held at the Fremont church conducted by W. A. McCorkle assisted by Rev. Asbury.
