OBITUARY.
Mr. Robert Scott Hopkins was born in Indiana County, Penn , July 31, 1853 and came with his parents to Iowa in 1869, and has since resided in Iowa, Nebraska and Colorado. In March, 1912, he entered a claim in South Dakota and would have proved up on it in September,1913, had he lived, but on account of his health was compelled to leave his claim and on March 11, 1913, he came to Council Bluffs and was at Mercy Hospital until April 6th, coming from there to his brother's, J. H. Hopkins, where he passed away, April 8, 1913, at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 7 days. He leaves to mourn his departure, two brothers, J F. and J H. Hopkins, both of Liberty township, and one sister, Mrs. Martha Travis, who resides in Pennsylvania. Mr Hopkins was respected by all who knew him and a friend to all. Funeral services were held at Bethel Chapel Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev Cronk of the U. B. Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in Bethel cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of this community.
