MRS. LOUISA TWYFORD

Louisa Miler was born in Gallia county, Ohio, May 6, 1839, and passed peacefully into rest December 05, 1913. She was seventy-four years, six months and twenty-nine days old.

At the time of her death she was at her home three miles south of Liberty, now owned by her son-in-law, Robert N. McQuern. Her last sickness lasted nine months, during which time she was helpless. Although she suffered much, yet she wore her ailments with much patience and Christian fortitude. She expressed her readiness and willingness to go and be with Christ.

At the age of twenty-two years she was married to Elias Whited. There was born to them one child, a daughter, Belle, who died a number of years ago. Her husband died in the army in 1862. On December the 24th, 1867, she was united in marriage to Henry Twyford. To them were born two sons, Franklin and Elihu, who died in infancy and seven daughters: Lillie, Mrs. W. C. Love; Amanda, Mrs. R. N. McQuern of Liberty; Josie, who died in infancy; Bitha, Mrs. C. R. Hogland of Perry; Florence, Mrs. C. C. Liggitt in Liberty township and Lula, Mrs. Pearl Proudfoot of Liberty.

Twenty years ago under the preaching of Rev. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Drake, Mr. and Mrs. Twyford were converted and united with the United Brethren church to which they were faithful to the end. November 26, 1900, Mr. Twyford died, since which time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Amanda McQuern.

Mrs. Twyford was a good woman, a devoted wife, and indulgent mother, and a kind neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all in the community where she had lived so long.

The funeral was conducted from the R. N. McQuern home by Rev. C. Knoll of Jamison M. E. church. Interment was made in the Liberty cemetery Sunday, Dec. 7, 1913.
