John Smith Died
At Hospital Mon.

John Thomas Smith, 85 year old Clarke county man, died at the Clarke county hospital Monday, Feb. 1. He had been a resident of Clarke county sine 1920.

He was born in Jasper, Arkansas, January 31, 1880, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph P. Smith. He received his education in the Arkansas schools and was married to Mollie Cook on May 6, 1901 at Collington, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Osceola Church of Christ, and the I.O.O.F. lodge.

Survivors include his wife, three sons and one daughter: Jesse of New Virginia, Floyd of Osceola, Dee of Des Moines and Mrs. Frank Thompson of Altoona; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and a brother, G. P. Smith of Pryor, Oklahoma.

Services will be at the Webster Funeral Home Thursday, Feb. 4 with Rev. Leonard Watts officiating. Burial will be in the Jamison cemetery.
