Obituary.
Susan Neal was born in the year of our Lord, September 13, 1810. She was born and raised in Perry county, Ohio, and married to Simon Lozier in 1820. They emigrated to Henry county, Iowa, in 1839. To them were born eleven children, six sons and five daughters. They moved to Page county, Iowa, in 1871, and lived there until 1890, then came to Clarke, county to visit their daughters, Mrs. A. J. Marquis and Mrs. S. N. Marquis.

Simon Lozier died at the home of Mrs. S. N. Marquis, October 9, 1890. His wife then made her home with her daughter, Mrs. S. N. Marquis, until her death, January 23, 1897, aged eighty-six years, four months and ten days. She leaves five children, three sons and two daughters, and many friends to mourn her death.

Susan Lozier was converted in early life and united with the Baptist denomination. She lived a true and devoted Christian, and died in the triumph of a living faith. Her life was full of good deeds. Many hearts have been made glad through her ministrations of love.

The friends and neighbors of deceased gathered at Mr. S. N. Marquis, January 26th, at 9 a. m. for prayer by Rev. Follansbee, then went to Bethel Chapel, Liberty township, where the funeral service was conducted by Rev. Follansbee, and the remains laid to rest.

Twenty-one grand-children and thirty three great grandchildren are left.
