The remains of Mr. Joseph Hasting who died at his home in Warren county Iowa were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery last Saturday. Rev. Chas Hollingworth conducted the funeral services.

Mr. Joseph Hastings of Warren County died about 1 o'clock Friday morning Aug. 9th. Rev Charles Hollingsworth conducted the funeral services over the remains, at Bethel Chapel Saturday after which interment was made in the cemetery near by.

OBITUARY

Joseph Hasting, son of Thomas and Mary Hasting, was born in Ohio Nov. 20, 1826. He was married to Catharine Michael in 1850. To this union were born 11 children: one died in infancy, Barbara Edwards died in 1906; Mrs. John Campfield of Adair county, Mrs. Rebecca Robinson of Portland, OR, Mrs. John Welch of Wieppe, Idaho, Mrs. Adaia Welch of Chariton, Joseph Hasting of Platt, SD, William, Ira and Elias of Iowa, and Mrs. Lola Marquis of Nezperce, Idaho.

Joseph Hasting moved to Iowa in 1858 and has resided in Marion and Warren counties since. At an early age he united with the Baptist Church and had remained a true and faithful Christian until the Lord called him home. He departed this life Aug. 8, 1907, aged 81 years, 8 months and 18 days. Funeral service was conducted by Rev. C.G. Hollingsworth at Bethel Chapel, Clarke county, IA, and his remains were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery.
