Eda Lane (1837-1898)

Died at her home five miles north of Osceola, July 19, 1898, Eda Lane aged sixty years, 8 months and eleven days.

She was born in Kosciusko Co. Ind. Came with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Harlan to Iowa in 1853, was married to J. B. Lane March 3, 1856.

She was the mother of seven children three sons and four daughters all living except one daughter having died in infancy. All were with her during her last sickness except one son in South Dakota who came when the summons were sent that “Mother could not live.”

She had been ailing for some time with dropsy and heart trouble which caused her death. She had been a member of the church of Christ since her childhood. She leaves an aged father, two sisters and three brothers to mourn her loss, besides many relatives and friends.
