Friday Funeral
For W. Driver

William Gordon Driver, Clarke county farmer, died Tuesday at Veterans hospital in Des Moines, He was 74.

The Rev. Nile C. Byers of Osceola will officiate at funeral services at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Webster funeral home. The American Legion will conduct graveside services at Clarke county's Fremont cemetery.

Mr. Driver was born in Canton, Ill., on July 17, 1890 and educated in Illinois schools. He had spent some time in South Dakota, and he served in the army in France during World War I. He had lived in Lucas and Clarke counties for about the last 45 years, and was a member of the Four Square church.

Surviving relatives include two sisters, Mrs. Milo (Ida) Smith of Osceola and Mrs. Florence Nelson of Lucas, a brother Glenn M. Driver of Colorado Springs, Colo., nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Thomas J. and Rosa Maxson Driver, a brother Jesse Ray, sister, Ethel Driver, and two half-brothers, Leroy and Ira Brown.
