Prominent Citizen Called By Death

At the home of his son in Fremont township at one o'clock a. m. Tuesday, January 25th, Frances Schaffer answered the call of the Death Angel. For a number of weeks past he has been seriously ill. The deceased was one of Clarke county's most highly respected citizens. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having served as a member of Co. G. of the 6th Iowa Infantry. He was 80 years of age.

Funeral services will be held at the Fremont church today, Thursday, at 2 o'clock p. m. Interment will be made in the Fremont cemetery.
