Fred Murtle

Fred William Murtle, son of John and Susan Richardson Murtle, was born in Clarke County, Iowa, August 24, 1879 and departed this life in the Clarke county hospital in Osceola, Iowa, Sept. 26, 1958, at the age of 79 years, one month and two days. He is the last of a family of seven.

He received his education in the Clarke county public schools and spent his entire life in Clarke county.

Several years ago he united with the Trinity Methodist church. He held steadfast to his faith in God.

Surviving relatives are two nephews, one niece, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 28, at the Webster Funeral home with Rev. Azel L. Smith officiating. Music was by Amy Ruth Halan and Emil Rinderspacher.

Pallbearers were: Oscar Patterson, Floyd Overton, Milo Crawford, Glenn Stephenson, Burley Smith and Sam Audlehelm. Burial was in the Fremont cemetery.
