Leroy D. Page

Leroy Donavan Page, son of Hubert Foster and Ruth Edna Page, was born July 26, 1939 at Osceola, Iowa, and departed this life at the Clarke county hospital February 3, 1958, at the age of 18 years, 6 months and 8 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing his parents, one brother Dennis, the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mateer of Woodburn, Iowa, grandmother, Mrs. Flossie Page, Osceola, Iowa, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Page.

He was a member of the Osceola Christian church. He accepted Christ as his Savior when he was nine years of age and was baptized on April 17, 1949. He sang in the choir and was a member of the Christian Youth Fellowship of the church. He was always ready and willing to serve his master when the opportunity arose. Leroy was always a kind and loving patient during his illness and always welcomed his friends and relatives with a smile, and was appreciative of all that was done for him.

He graduated from high school with the class of 1957 and his greatest ambition always was to graduate from college to be of greater service to humanity. He enjoyed all of the school activities and was a member of the chorus. Music and flowers were his greatest joy.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Warren Hile at the Webster Funeral home Wednesday, February 5, 1958 at 2:30 o'clock. Music was furnished by Emil Rinderspacher who sang "Ivory Palaces" and "Abide With Me." Amy Ruth Harlan presided at the organ. Pallbearers were J. D. Eddy, Oral Eddy, Olin Eddy, Merlyn Newman, Calvin Halvorsen and Clarence Scholl.
