Clara Ellen Grimm Bruns

Clara Ellen Bruns, Daughter of Vernie Clate Grimm and the late Nellie May Reed Grimm was born Friday, September 20, 1929 Northwest of Osceola in Clarke County, Iowa and passed from this life Friday, October 10, 2008 at the home of her son, Gregory. She was 79 years of age.Clara received her education in the Decatur County Schools. She married Orval A. Black, Jr. on June 1, 1947 and three children were born to this union; Orval "Butch", Gregory P. and Jeannie L.

She was later united in marriage to the late Milford Richard Bruns on October 2, 1967 at Burlington, Iowa.

Clara worked as a Donut Maker for Caseys General Stores in Creston and Osceola for the past 17 years. She had also worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington for several years and various other places in the Osceola community. She was a member of Fraternal Oder of the Eagles Aerie #3495 in Osceola. The center of Clara's world revolved around her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and siblings. She enjoyed bowling, music, game shows and puzzlebooks.

Those relatives who preceded Clara in death were her Parents; Husband, Milford Bruns; Brothers, Dale and Carol Grimm; infant Sisters, Ina Fae and Nina Kay Grimm; Vernice Nunez; Nieces, connie Grimm and Patty (Grimm) Hodges; Nephews, Marvin and Miles Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memory; Son, Orval "Butch" (Pam) Black of Mt. Ayr, Iowa, Daughter, Jeannie L. (Ed) Woosley of Creston, Iowa, Son, Greg (Toni Barber) Black of Osceola, Iowa, Sister, Orvetta Stickley of Lonsdale, AR, Sister, Orma (Robert) Powell of Osceola, Iowa, Sister, Merna Gere of Van Wert, Iowa, Brother, Dean (Marian) Grimm of Van Wert, Iowa, Brother, Estel (Elaine) Grimm of Logan, Iowa; 17 Grandchildren; 43 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
