OBITUARY.
Thomas Page was born of English parents in Colchester, Essex, England, on December 13,1823 and departed this life on October 11, 1908, aged eighty four years, nine months and twenty eight days. His boyhood days were spent in England but in August, 1842, he embarked for America and lived at Hennepin, Ill., for two years. In the year 1844, be moved to Delavan, Ill., and there resided for forty-three years and saw the barren prairies blossom under cultivation into beauty and riches.

On March 6, 1840, he was united in marriage to Miss Hannah Dillon, who died in November of the same year. On March 4, 1852, he was again united, in marriage to Mrs. Ruth Allgood and lived very happily until her death December 5, 1894. To their union were born four children, two daughters, Mary A. Root and Allean, who died in infancy, and
two sons, Thomas C. and James H.

In the year 1897, he moved his family to near Woodburn, Iowa, and made his home there almost twenty-two years, the first two years being spent in Woodburn with his daughter, Mrs. M. A. Root. The deceased leaves to mourn his departure, besides his three children, one stepson, Robert Allgood, of Fargo, Okla., nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also four step grandchildren.

"Uncle Tommy" Page, as he was usually called, had a wide circle of friends and neighbors who will miss his pleasant face and the kindly greeting he always had for everyone he met.

The funeral was preached by Rev. S. M. Clark at the U. B. church at Ottawa and a large crowd followed the remains to the Ottawa cemetery where he was laid to rest by the side of his companion.
