Obituary

Elsie Mae Goodrich

Elsie Mae, daughter of Fletcher and Anne Bullin Monical was born on a farm in Washington township, Clarke county on September 20, 1878 and passed on to the great beyond November 5, 1957 at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 18 days. Her entire life was spent in Clarke and Warren counties with the exception of a few years she lived in Kansas when a young girl.

Elsie was one of a family of five sisters and brothers, all of whom are living except one sister who preceded her in death. They are Ida Sinn, and Bertha Sinn of Osceola, Elva Kline of Omaha, Nebr., John and Pearl Monical of Texas and Wild Monical of Omaha, and Lizzie Hull who passed away in 1948. Her father and mother have both passed on. Her father just last December reaching the age of 102 and 6 months.

On March 3, 1903, she was united in marriage to Jesse Goodrich and to this union nine children were born. Five sons, Carl of Murray, Vern of Omaha, Ross of Saint Marys, Paul of Lucas and Everette of Des Moines. Four daughters, Inez of Arnolds Park, Hazel of Lucas, Annebelle of Freeport, Texas, and Margaret of Union, Illinois.

Her husband, Jesse passed away June 4, 1952.

She leaves to mourn her passing the nine children, 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five daughters-in-law, 4 son-in-law, her sisters, brothers, a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

Elsie accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized and joined the "Church of God" when a young girl.

Funeral services held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 8 at the Webster Funeral Home with Mosher Funeral services of Lacona in charge, with Rev. Stanley Wiksell, minister of the Assembly of God church officiating.

Music was furnished by Emil Rinderspacher with Any Ruth Harlan at the organ.

Burial was at the Long View Cemetery beside her husband. Pall bearers were the five sons, Carl, Vern, Ross, Paul, Everette and a son-in-law, Doug Clarke.
