William Henry McNair.

William Henry, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McNair, was born in Warren county, Iowa, June 24, 1882, and departed this life at the home of his brother, Sylvestor McNair, four and one-half miles east of Osceola, Monday, July 18, 1921, aged 39 years and 24 days. At six years of age he moved with his parents to Clarke county, Iowa, since which time he has made his home excepting for short periods spent at Oskaloosa and other places. Fifteen years ago he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Mithen of Lucas county, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Mary aged ten years, and a little infant daughter, deceased.

Mr. McNair carried on the occupation of farming for a number of years later moving to Osceola where he conducted a feed mill until his health failed and he had to give it up.

Deceased has been afflicted with rheumatism for the past seven years, the last three years his suffering became intense. Everything was done to relieve his suffering but to no avail. One year was spent at Excelsior Springs, but he came back weaker and gradually continued so until the end came as above mentioned. The last eight months he was helpless and unable to feed himself.

Mr. McNair was a kind, generous man, always thoughtful of his family and fellow beings. He was reared in the Catholic religion and has faithfully kept it until the end.

Besides his wife and dear little daughter, Mary, he is survived by three brothers, Andrew J. of San Bernardino, Calif., J. D. and Sylvester of Osceola, and one half-brother, Ben B. of Keystone, Nebraska. The first and last named were unable to be present at the funeral services which were held from the Catholic church at Osceola Wednesday at 10:30 o'clock conducted by Father O'Sullivan of Chariton, and the body accompanied by the sorrowing relatives and friends, was taken to Woodburn and interment made in the St. Mary's cemetery.

Card of Thanks: We wish to thank the many dear friends who were so kind and helpful to us during the sickness and death of our beloved husband, father and brother. For the many consoling words and the beautiful floral offerings we are indeed grateful.

Mrs. W. H. McNair, Mary and the brothers.
