Isaac Wallace was born 1 Mar 1832 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio and departed this life on 29 Feb 1908 in Clarke County, Iowa. His parents were John Wallace 1785-1850 and Mary McFadden1789-1850.

“The Wallace brothers, John of South Dakota, Virge of Osawatomie, Kansas, Ulyso of New Mexico, and Austin of Oskaloosa, all came to attend the funeral of their father.

Miss Spown, who has been nursing Mr. Wallace, visited over Sunday with Mrs. Frank Stevens and returned to Des Moines Monday afternoon. Mrs. Stephens accompanied her to Van Wert.”

Isaac Wallace, an old settler of Clarke county, died at his home near Smyrna, Saturday, Feb 29th after a ‘week’s illness with paralysis. The funeral service was held at the Christian church at Last Chance Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Dunlavy of Gravity, and the remains placed to rest beside his wife. Mr. Wallace was a faithful Christian, a true friend and neighbor. He leaves five sons and three daughters, all of whom were present at the funeral.”

“Isaac Wallace died at his home near Smyrna, Saturday, February 29, from the effects of a recent stroke of paralysis. Mr. Wallace was a pioneer of this county, having lived at the old home something over twenty years. The children were all home at the time of his death. His wife preceded him to the better world about five years ago. He was a little over seventy years of age, and had collected a host of frends in his life time. Burial took place Monday.”
