Services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 13 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Visitation will be open after 12 noon Monday with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bethel Chapel Cemetery in Clarke County.

Shorty served his country with the United States Army and military rites will be presented at the cemetery.

Survivors include his devoted companion, Marj Cooper of rural Osceola, and his special niece, Samantha Bell.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
