Patricia Scadden
Patricia “Trish” Ann Klein Scadden, daughter of Jack and Helen Klein, was born May 25, 1958, in Des Moines and died Aug. 13, 2003, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 45.

She graduated from Clarke Community High School in 1976. She married Kenny Scadden on Nov. 5, 1983, in Osceola. She was the mother to two children whom she adored, Jeramy McMillen of Des Moines and Chelsey Scadden of Osceola.

Mrs. Scadden was very gifted at sewing and ran her own sewing and alteration business, The Sewing Room. She enjoyed meeting new people through her business. She could sew anything and especially liked tough sewing challenges.

When she was in high school she belonged to the Order of Rainbow and was active in chorus. Mrs. Scadden was a Girl Scout leader and loved working with children. She enjoyed her birds, working with flowers and canning for the Iowa State Fair competition. Most of all, she liked to go camping and spending time with her children and family.

She was preceded in death by a niece, Dana Klein; her grandparents and her mother-in-law, La Vaun Scadden.

She is survived by her husband of Osceola; a son, Jeramy McMillen and his fiance, Tisha Hopkins, both of Des Moines; a daughter Chelsey Scadden of Osceola; her parents of Woodburn; a brother, Leonard Klein of Woodburn; three sisters, Cyndi Klein and her fiance, Ross Bland, of Woodburn, Linda Klein and friend, Janet Malmborg of Des Moines and Kathy Obermeier and her husband, Mike Obermeier, of Woodburn. Other family members include four nephews, Christopher Klein of Noel, Mo., Kory Underhill of Des Moines, and Darren and David Obermeier of Wooburn; two nieces, LaDeena Green of Glenwood and Amy Klein of Woodburn; a great nephew; special friend, Diana Burdess of Osceola and a host of friends and family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Scadden were Aug. 16 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola, Pastor Chuck DeVoss officiating.

Casket bearers were Larry Wieland, Shawn Clarke, Craig Barcus, David Downing, Kenny Woltz and Jon Stearns. Interment was in Maple Hill Cemetery at Osceola.
