Robert Harold Barcus of Osceola, Iowa passed away October 12, 2005 at the Clarke County hospital, Osceola, Iowa at the age of 89 years. He was born October 18, 1915, son of George Emry Barcus and Ora Alice Barr Barcus.

The Family lived in Clarke County during the early years but moved to Bremer County for a short period of time. Harold graduated from Sumner High School in Bremer County Iowa. The family returned to farm near Lacelle in 1933.

Harold married Alberta Irene Reynolds, April 22, 1936 in Leon, Iowa. The newlyweds started farming near Lacelle in Clarke County and later purchased a farm East of Weldon, Iowa where the family resided until their retirement in 19870 to Osceola. Harold was active in his community, a member of the Farm Bureau, and a member of the Weldon Christian Church. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alberta in 1992, and his son-in-law William Criss in 1993; brother-in-law, Dalton Meyer.

He is survived by his son Roger Harold Barcus (wife Carol) of Rochester, Illinois, daughter Karen Ruby Barcus Criss of North aurora, Illinois, five grandchildren, Michelle Warriner (husband Mark) of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Christy Barcus of Rochester, Illinois, Marcia Arb (husband Ron) of North Aurora, Illinois, Shelley Henderson (husband Jeff) of North Aurora, Illinois and Scott Criss of Irvine, California; 5 great grandchildren; Justin and Alex Arb, Parker, Bryce and Grant Henderson all of North Aurora, IL; and one step great grandson, Casey Warriner of Fairview Heights, IL; sister, Ruby O'Del Meyer of Sumner, Iowa: as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends of the Osceola/Weldon area.
