MARCELLA F. SINIFT
Marcella Faye Sinift, the daughter of Lawrence and Jessie Clark Marquis, was born on July 6, 1916, in Woodburn and died Oct. 2, 2001, at Watertown, S.D. She was 85.

Mrs. Sinift was a Woodburn High School graduate. She married Maurice L. Sinift on Sept. 4, 1937, at Indianola.The couple lived in various communities including St. Paul, Minn., Cedar Rapids and Burlington.

Mr. Sinift died in 1990 and Mrs. Sinift moved to Watertown in 1995. She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, baking, watching world events and spending time with her family. She was a member of Ninth Avenue United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Aletha and Celeste and a brother, Forrest.

She is survived by her son, Maurice James “Jim” Sinift and his special friend, Mary Solt, of Chicago, Ill.; a daughter, Karen Fishman and her husband, Brad Fishman, of Watertown; a daughter-in-law, Sue Dickson Sinift of Iowa City; five grandchildren, Aaron Sinift of Boston, Mass., John Sinift and his wife, Maria Sinift, of Sweden and Jaclyn, Brenna and Elizabeth “Ellie” Fishman of Watertown.

A memorial service was Oct. 8 at Wight and Fox Funeral Chapel, Watertown, the Rev. Roger Spahr of Ninth Avenue United Methodist Church officiated.

Interment was in Liberty Center Cemetery.
