John Curtis McNeal, son of Anna (Decker) McNeal and George Davis McNeal was born Februrary 25, 1890 in Union County. He passed away suddenly April 7, 1982 at the home of his son, Harold in Osceola.

When only a few years old, he came with his parents and family to settle on a portion of the Decker farm in Clarke County. He called this home the rest of his life.

On July 2, 1917 he married Gertrude Watkins. To this union ten children were born.

He worked hard all his life. He got one of the first Model T trucks in the area. This started his profession as a truck driver. He trucked until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife: parents: all of his (this part is missing)

He leaves to mourn his passing four sons, Harold McNeal and wife, Mamie of Osceola; Donald and wife, Lucille of Cedar Rapids; Robert and wife, Viola of Centerville; and John and wife Glenda of Murray; two daughters Anna May Guthrie and husband, Cecil of Cedar Rapids; and Dorothy Dinham and husband, Bernard of Murray; two daughters-in-law, Edrie of Des Moines and Lois of Ankeny; also 29 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

There is so little to say for one who has stayed a long time upon this earth. He may not hve gained material worth. His children think he gave us so much more. He will always be loved. you'd have to search forever to find such memories. We shall remember every moment.
