Obituary

Naomi Beatrice Shoup was born in Cherokee county, Iowa, August 1, 1895, and died at the home of her father, W. H. Shoup, in Fremont township Tuesday July 6, 1909, aged thirteen years, eleven months. She came to Madison county in 1900, where she lived until 1908, coming to Truro in March and to Clarke county in December. She was in poor health for about eighteen months, but her last illness was of pneumonia and she was sick but twenty-four hours. W. W. Folger conducted the funeral from Fremont church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday and interment took place in the cemetery near.

On Children’s day, 1905, Naomi united with the M. E. church at Patterson. She was a favorite with her associates, a careful student, willing to do for others, and a valued helper in the Sunday school which she loved dearly.
