1982Eugene R. Robins
Eugene R. Robins, son of Orval L. and Martha Piper Robins was born May 1, 1900 near Osceola and departed this life at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, November 17, 1982 at the age of 82 years, 6 months, 16 days.
On March 15, 1927, he was united in marriage to Edith Potter. To this union one daughter, Joanne was born.
Gene attended school in Clarke County and lived his entire life on the farm where he was born, except for the past year during which he resided in Osceola. Hw was a kind and loving husband and father, a dedicated farmer always willing to help a neighbor in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Eula Marquis; three brothers, Arlie, Herman and Lloyd; one grandson, James E. Barton; and one great-granddaughter, Sherrie Barton.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Edith; his daughter Joanne and her husband Dale E. Barton of Albuquerque, New Mexico; two granddaughters, Rita and her husband Richard Hertel of Fremont, California, and Elizabeth and her husband Fred Akard Arvada, Colorado; and five great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Gene and Renee Hertel, Christopher, Patrick and Matthew Akard. Also one brother, Gurena Robins and his wife, Beulah of Emmet, Idaho; nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
