Obituary:
Eva Juniece Kelly, daughter of Harley Schaffer and Doris Mitchell Schaffer was born August 24, 1927 in Libertyville, Illinois and passed from this life May 22, 2009 at Clarke County Hospital in Osceola, Iowa at 81 years of age.

Eva received her education in the Osceola High School and later was united in marriage to Jerry D. Kelly on September 29, 1946 at Chariton, Iowa. Three children, Mike, Michele and Melanie blessed this union.

Eva worked at Northwestern Bell for a time after graduation. Following her marriage, Eva worked the farm with Jerry and was a homemaker.

A former member of the Clarke County Extension Council, Eva also served many years as an election official and was active in 4-H with her kids in past years.

Eva was a creative and humorous person who loved to draw and enjoyed writing poetry. She liked to garden, can, and especially enjoyed her bowling leagues and bridge club over the years. It is also said that she was a great cook. She was known among her family for her fried chicken, noodles and cinnamon rolls.

Those relatives who preceded Eva in death were her parents; husband, Jerry in 1991; infant daughter, Cynthia in infancy and infant grandson, Jared Kelly.

She leaves to cherish her memory; son, Mike (Kathy) Kelly of Osceola; daughter, Michele (Mark) Zaragoza of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Melanie (Kenneth) Smith of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Gabriel (Nichole) Kelly of Gulfport, MS; Cade (Tara) Kelly of Waukee; Jordanna Kelly of Philadelphia, PA; Keysto Kelly of Osceola; Neeli (Michael) Pyles' of Ft. Worth, TX; Brooke and Laci Zaragoza of Fort Worth, TX and Natalie (Amos) Wolff of Louisville, KY; great grandchildren, Grant and Nolan Kelly and Morgan and Michael Pyles' of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by her brother, Keith (Betty) Schaffer of Osceola and sister-in-law, Helen Coughenour of Des Moines; as well as many other relatives and many friends.
