Chester B. Smith
Chester B. Smith, son of Isaac G. and Sarah A. Smith, was born in Cortland County, New York, May 14, 1847. He lived with his parents until 1873, when he was married in Oceana County, Michigan, to Miss Harriet Miller, daughter of Joseph M. Miller.
She was born in Mahoning County, Ohio, December 12, 1852. Mr. and Mrs. Smith first settled in Michigan, and in 1874 came to Liberty Township and settled upon section 15. Since 1881 he has owned his home on section 16, where he has forty acres; he also has 100 acres on section 15.
Their five children are - Mary Alice, born September 30, 1874; Annie Myrtle, born October 14, 1876; Minnie Marie, born January 15, 1878; Arthur Edwin, born August 19, 1883; Lew Celia, born November 10, 1885. All were born in Liberty, Clarke County, Iowa. Mr. Smith is road supervisor and school director. In politics he is a republican.
