NASHUA - Lena M. Herrick, 102, of Nashua, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009, at Cedar Health, Charles City.

She was born April 7, 1906, in Virginia, daughter of Andrew J. and Grace F. Fox Baker. She married Harry L. Peters on May 3, 1927, in Horton. He died June 28, 1956. She married George M. Herrick on Oct. 24, 1958, in Nashua. He died Sept. 5, 1985.

Mrs. Herrick worked for Oliver Corp., Charles City, for 23 years as a materials handler and on the assembly line, retiring in 1967. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Nashua.

Survived by a son, Melvin Peters of Mountain Home, Ark.; two daughters, Adelia Biretz of Waterloo and Myrna Vikturek of Charles City; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Leroy Peters; a daughter, Carol DeGrotte; and four grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Nashua, with burial in Horton Cemetery, rural Waverly. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, with a 7 p.m. rosary. Visitation also 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
