MRS. L. B. TRUSTY OF IONIA DIED FRIDAY
Funeral Sunday At Congregational Church At Ionia

IONIA: Gertrude Alice Trusty was born Gertrude Ransom, June 11, 1884 at Ionia, daughter of Caleb S. and Emeline Moore Ransom. She passed away at 12:30 a.m. Dec 1, 1950, at the age of 66 years, 5 months, and 19 days. At the time of her death, she was apatient at the St. Joseph's hospital in New Hampton, after having suffered a heart attack and complications.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Lester B. Trusty, two daughters, Mrs. R. L. Grove (Marvelyn)of Monona, Mrs. Eldon R. Shriver (Elaine) of Tripoli, two sons Charles D. Taylor of Waterloo and Erusty of La Porte, Ind.; hr stepmother Mrs. Cora Ransom of Ionia; six brothers, Hal of Nashua, Oscar of Rose Creek, Minn., Mae of Nashua and Herm, Gale, Willis, and Willard Ransom all of Ionia; also nine grandchildren, Dennis, Jacki and Judy Grove, T. A. and L. B. Shriver, Betty Taylor and Patty North, Douglas and Dirk Trusty.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two infant sons, Gordon Ralph and Merill Stuart Trusty, two sisters and four brothers.

Gertie Trusty was a lifelong resident of this community, a faithful member of the Royal Neighbors of America and a loyal and devoted member of the Ionia Congregational church. The day of her final illness came, she had led the devotions in her group of closest friends and prayed "that we might be strengthened through is power and a greater obedience to His will."

The body was taken to the farm home south of Ionia from Perry's Chapel on Saturday. A brief prayer service preceded the memorial services, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 in the Congregational church at Ionia. Rev. David Arnold of Reinbeck, former pastor and good friend officiated, assisted by the Rev. Carrswell. Songs requestd by Mrs. Trusty were "Buelah Land," "Beyond the Sunset" and The Christian Goodnight," sung by Mrs. Maud Waite and Mrs. Helen Stevens, the organist was Mrs. Marian Cagley. Pallbearers were Winton Waite, Neil Hughes, Dan Dudley, Hugh McIlroy, Stanley Edson, and Bert Woodworth.

Ushers were Roger Anderson, Robert Cagley, Allen Edson, and Gordon Huffman.

Interment was in the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua.

Relatives and friends attended from Waterloo, Rose Creek, Winnebago, Minn., Janesville, Nashua, Charles City, Jackson Jct., New Hampton, Mason City, and Shell Rock.
