Miranda Parks, wife of Benjamin B. Parks of this township, died at her home March 16, 1904, after a long illness. The funeral was held at the residence March 18th, Rev. Smith of the M. E. Church preaching the sermon. The burial was at the East Cemetery.

Mr. and Mrs. Parks came to this township in the year 1867 where they have lived continually since. Mrs. Parks was the mother of nine children; Jennie (Sumner Moore), May (Myron Russ), Marie, Harding, Julia, Clara (Alanson Eygabroad), Ben, Edward, and Jeff, all of whom survive her excepting Edward.

Mrs. Parks was one of those rare natures that seem to shrink from going into society, therefore she was always found at her home ministering in loving kindness to those making up her household. She was a good woman, a loving mother, a kind friend, and a devoted wife. She will be missed by many but especially by the loving home circle which to her was her greatest pride and joy.
