Marjorie Kucko, 96, of Elma, Iowa, died on Sunday, March 28, at Colonial Manor in Elma.

Funeral Services are 11 a.m. Thursday April 1, at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel, Elma, with Pastor Paula Hemann officiating. Georgia Schmitt will be the organist and the congregational hymns will be “How Great Thou Art”, “Hymn of Promise” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Burial will be at Howard Cemetery in Elma, with Lee, Matt, Todd and Chad Kucko, Clint Porter and Brady Huckabay serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 1, from 10 -11am at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel in Elma.
Marjorie Ruth Schroeder was born September 8, 1913 in Howard County, near Elma, the daughter of Earl and Eliza (Watson) Schroeder. Marjorie attended country school and graduated from Elma High School. She then owned a dress shop in Elma. Marjorie was an excellent seamstress, as well as a quilter. She knitted, crocheted, and was a wonderful cook.

On October 11, 1942, Marjorie married Francis Kucko at her parent’s farm. The couple then moved to Rice Lake, WI and after several years moved back to Elma, where they farmed for many years. Marjorie was a member of Elma United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and the Friends and Neighbors Club.

Marjorie is survived by four sons, Fred and his wife, Ginny of Shell Rock, Jon and his wife, Sherry of Perkins, OK, Dave and his wife, Liz of Austin, TX, and Dale and his wife, Jane of Ft. Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law Wanda Schroeder of Williamsburg.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis in 2006; two sisters Marion and Leone; and two brothers Edwin and Harold.
